The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction/Exceptional Children Division will conduct Informational Meetings this fall on the North Carolina Governor’s School.

Specific audition requirements will be posted on the Governor’s School website.

January 2015
Student specific audition information mailed to nominees.

February 2015

  • Saturday, February 7 - Auditions in Choral Music only
  • Saturday, February 21 - Auditions in Dance, Instrumental Music, Theater and Visual Art only
All auditions will be held at Meredith College in Raleigh. All students who are nominated in these areas and who meet the eligibility requirements for Governor’s School will be notified individually and invited to audition.

March 19, 2015
Notification of students selected to attend the 2015 session of the Governor’s School is mailed to superintendents, headmasters of non-public schools, and the directors of charter schools.

March 26, 2015
Notification of selection/non-selection mailed to students.

April 20, 2015
Deadline for nominating schools/school systems to submit acceptance forms on selected students. Submission of an acceptance form obligates the school/school system to pay a non-refundable tuition of $500 per student. Details on tuition payment options and procedures have been sent to schools and school systems.

NOTE: Students/families should be prepared to attend either campus. Campus assignments are made according to program specifics and student rankings. Requests for a particular campus (due to schedule conflicts or any other reason) will not be entertained.
